Roadmap and Changelog

Learn how to use Voxifly's roadmap and changelog features to communicate progress and keep users informed about updates.

Roadmap and Changelog

Keep your users informed about what you're building and what's been released. Voxifly's roadmap and changelog features help you communicate progress transparently.

What you'll learn

  • Moving issues to the roadmap
  • Publishing issues to the changelog
  • Creating manual changelog entries
  • Managing release timelines

Roadmap

The roadmap shows users what you're working on and what's coming next. It's automatically populated based on your issue statuses.

How it works

  1. Status-based display - Issues appear in roadmap based on their status
  2. Kanban-style layout - Visual columns for each status
  3. Drag-and-drop - Team members can move issues between statuses
  4. Public visibility - Users can see progress without admin access

Configuring roadmap visibility

  1. Go to Project Settings → Statuses
  2. For each status, toggle "Show in roadmap"
  3. Only enabled statuses will appear on the public roadmap
  4. Reorder statuses to control column sequence

Changelog

The changelog keeps users updated on what's been released and when.

Publishing issues to changelog

  1. Automatic publishing - Enable "Publish to changelog" for specific statuses
  2. Manual publishing - Select issues to publish individually
  3. Release dates - Set when features were released
  4. Featured entries - Highlight important updates

Creating manual changelog entries

Sometimes you want to announce updates that aren't tied to specific issues:

  1. Go to Changelog section
  2. Click "Create Entry"
  3. Fill in details:
    • Title: What was released
    • Description: Detailed explanation
    • Release date: When it went live
    • Tags: Categorize the update
    • Featured: Highlight important releases
  4. Publish when ready

Best practices

Roadmap

  • Keep roadmap updated regularly
  • Use clear status names that users understand
  • Don't show too many statuses (3-5 is ideal)
  • Update issue statuses as work progresses

Changelog

  • Publish updates promptly after releases
  • Use consistent formatting and tone
  • Include both major features and small improvements
  • Use tags to categorize different types of updates
